For over four decades, Chabad of the West Side has been a cornerstone of Jewish life on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, guided by the timeless vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
With open arms and open hearts, we welcome every individual and family, regardless of background or affiliation. What began in 1984 has grown into a vibrant, dynamic center that touches thousands of lives each year.
From a world-class preschool and thriving day school, to multiple synagogues serving every age and stage, to engaging youth, teen, and young professional communities, to classes, holiday programs, and hands-on mitzvah experiences across the city, Chabad is alive with energy, purpose, and connection every single day.
Hundreds gather each Shabbat. Thousands participate throughout the year. Each program is another opportunity for a Jew to feel at home, to feel proud, and to feel connected.
At a time when Jewish identity is being challenged and the need for community has never been greater, Chabad stands as a beacon of warmth, strength, and belonging.
The Gala Campaign is what fuels this vital work, ensuring that every child, every teen, every adult, every family has a place to turn, a place to grow, and a place to belong.
Together, we are not just sustaining a community, we are building the future of Jewish life on the Upper West Side.
