Dear Friend of the Chabad Shul,
We are pleased to announce that the construction of our new space at 170 West 97th Street is nearing completion well ahead of schedule. The larger, newly renovated Shul space will accommodate our growing davening, children’s programs and kiddushim in much greater comfort.
Please note the schedule for the Chabad Shul’s move to West 97th Street:
Shabbat Parshat Ki Teitzei, August 28 – 29: final Shabbat on 92nd Street
Shabbat Parshat Ki Tavo, September 4 – 5, Labor Day weekend: our first Shabbat at the Chabad Shul’s new location, 170 West 97th Street.
Our weekday minyan will resume on Tuesday, September 8, at 7:30 am at our new location.
In addition we will have a Grand Kiddush/Luncheon celebrating the new Chabad space for the entire community on Shabbat Shuvah, September 26.
While Chabad’s permanent home on the West Side on West 86th Street should be ready in a few years, in the interim, the larger, newly renovated space on 97th Street will serve the Chabad Shul well.
We realize that for some of you, the walk to 97th Street might be slightly longer, but we urge you to make every effort to continue davening with Chabad as we move to 97th Street. The energy and spirit that each of you bring to our Shul is appreciated and irreplaceable.
Thank you,
