Bar and Bat Mitzvah Training

Rabbi Chayim B. Alevsky, with over 30 years of experience, trains boys ages 11 - 13 for their Bar Mitzvah.

Rabbi Alevsky guides the Bar Mitvah boys through the study process until they are capable of reading the Torah and / or Haftarah independently. He also helps develop a course of study that enables them to write a Dvar Torah. In addition, he teaches them how to lead services in the Synagogue.

Rabbi Alevsky works with boys of all levels of Hebrew reading and Jewish knowledge, from beginners to advanced. Your boy can't read Hebrew? Don't worry! Within 2 months (with daily practice), your boy should become a fluent Hebrew reader. We first learn the Hebrew Aleph-Bet, then learn to read Hebrew and finally the Torah. Your boy already knows know how to read Hebrew? Great! Lessons will be geared to learning the Torah reading skill from the Torah or Haftarah Trop (tunes / cantillations). All levels are welcome and end up with a beautiful presentation on their Bar Mitzvah day. 

Sarah Alevsky is available to study with girls ages 10 and up for their Bat Mitzvah. She learns a subject in depth with the girls and helps them put together a Siyum or speech on the subject learned. They also cover the basics of what it means to be a Jewish women.
